The aim is to ensure that apprentices who are made redundant or under notice of redundancy are provided with a work based training placement with an employer to enable them to complete their Apprenticeship Framework and enhance their opportunities of sourcing alternative employment.

In the South East the project will provide a range of measures including:

  • Support for up to 625 apprentices from any sectors
  • Providing a work based training placement with an employer as an unemployed apprentice, enabling the completion of the Apprenticeship framework.  This offer is available to apprentices aged 16 and over in any sector across the South East region who are nearing Framework completion and have been, or are under threat of redundancy
  • An individual weekly allowance of £95 for apprentices aged 25 years and over ( younger apprentices will be able to apply to the Hardship Funds)
  • An incentive of up to £400 to appropriate employers to offer training placements to enable the apprentice to complete their framework
  • Enhanced information, advice and guidance to enable apprentices to gain support in sourcing alternative employment and signposting to other information that may be required.
