The management of the Apprenticeship implementation fund in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight
The development and management of Apprenticeships Online
Working on behalf of the South Central Connexions Partnership, Aspire has managed the development and implementation of a revolutionary system to ease access to Apprenticeships for both employers and young people. Apprenticeships Online is an ESF funded project, co-financed by the Learning and Skills Council for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. It has culminated in the development of a web-based resource which offers background information on Apprenticeship. The site also houses a facility whereby employers can place recruitment advertisements for Apprenticeship opportunities and young people can search and apply online and then track the progress of their applications.
This project has been run in partnership with many key organisations and is supported by 35 local learning providers and many national employers who recruit Apprentices locally. Aspire have been instrumental in the setting up of collaborative marketing, full design of the system, training and staff support and awareness raising through out the region.
Learner Reps
Aspire Learning developed and project managed the successful implementation of a Learner Representative programme across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
This project trains and supports Learner Reps in the workplace to motivate and inspire their colleagues towards learning opportunities.
This involved developing Open College Network Accreditation Units at levels 2 and 3 to support the training and progression of Learner Reps, promoting the programme to local employers of all sizes, working strategically with partners such as Education Business Link Organisations, Business Link and the Information, Advice and Guidance Partnership and supporting the retention of the Learner Reps following training through progression opportunities, networking and communication support.
